First Communion

Our First Communion class is a one-year program. However, One full year of regular RE attendance is required before entering First communion classes. This gives the child the ability to learn the foundation of our understanding of the Eucharist and it's importance in our lives.

A good foundation to receiving Communion is knowing that God made you, that He made you out of His love for you. That He made you in His image and likeness. This sets humanity apart from the rest of creation with a special dignity that even our pets do not have. It is a time when we are willing to have a relationship with Jesus. This means wanting to do His holy will and spending time in prayer. It also realizes responsibility for our actions in our relationship with God and going to confession when we need to.
